Entrata may be where a team’s operating data lives, but useful AI still needs clear definitions, permission boundaries, context, and a dependable runtime. As an Entrata partner, Leni can support an approved data path that brings supported Entrata data into its Universal Data Model and makes governed capabilities available to custom applications or compatible AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Why connect Entrata data to an AI infrastructure layer?

A property-management system contains essential operating data. A production AI workflow also needs cross-system definitions, organizational context, permission boundaries, durable execution, and an interface that developers or assistants can use.

Leni supplies those layers around the approved data:

How the connection works

1. Approve the Entrata data path

The customer, Entrata, and Leni requirements determine the permitted connection method. Before implementation, confirm the authorized account, properties, objects, history, sync direction, and refresh cadence.

2. Normalize supported data

Leni maps the supported Entrata data into the Universal Data Model and governed semantic layer. The source system remains authoritative.

3. Apply the relevant context

Approved organizational definitions, reporting practices, documents, and user context help the workflow interpret the data for the current task. Organization context depends on plan and permissions.

4. Use the runtime

A server application can use Leni’s HTTP API. A compatible assistant can connect through remote MCP and Leni OAuth.

Connect Entrata-derived data to ChatGPT and Claude

After the approved data is available in Leni:

1. Add the Leni connector using https://mcp.leni.co/mcp.

2. Sign in with Leni OAuth.

3. Confirm the active organization and requested access.

4. Use the permitted Leni tools within the user’s authorized scope.

ChatGPT and Claude connect to Leni’s governed runtime through supported remote MCP connections. They do not receive a project API key or unrestricted access to Entrata.

Check the connection with one portfolio question

Once your Entrata data path is approved and the agreed data is available in Leni, start with one question you can verify against your own reporting.

Confirm what has been connected

Ask your Entrata administrator and Leni implementation team to confirm that the approved Leni profile has been enabled in Entrata’s API Access settings. Give the implementation team your Entrata domain through the agreed support channel; do not paste source-system credentials into ChatGPT or Claude.

Before testing, agree on the properties, supported records, reporting period and refresh cadence. A successful assistant connection does not, by itself, confirm that every property or data set has finished loading.

Discover the available data before asking for a report

Enable Leni in your compatible ChatGPT or Claude environment and sign in with Leni OAuth. Then try:

Use Leni to list the data models available to me. Describe the model that supports occupancy, if one is available. Tell me which measures and property dimensions I can use. Do not start a long-running analysis or change anything.

Leni’s MCP reference documents leni_list_data_models and leni_describe_data_model for this step. Your assistant should use the member names returned for your account, not guess field names from another system.

Run a small, read-only check

If the required model and measures are available, try:

Use Leni to show occupancy for the properties I am authorized to access, limited to ten rows. Use only the measures and dimensions you just discovered. Show the tool result and explain the definition used. If the date, source or refresh information is unavailable, say so rather than guessing. Do not start a separate analysis or change anything.

This is an illustrative test prompt, not a recorded customer result. The documented leni_query_portfolio_data tool runs bounded, read-only semantic queries; it does not accept arbitrary SQL.

Compare the result with an Entrata report using the same properties, reporting date and occupancy definition. Check whether the report is current or period-based, and whether any filters differ. Do not assume a result represents only Entrata data if the selected Leni model combines sources.

If the figures disagree, share the question, reporting period, approved property scope and the mismatch with your Leni implementation team through your normal support channel. Leave credentials and unnecessary resident-level information out.

What if the assistant does not use Leni?

Make sure the connector is enabled for the conversation and ask explicitly to “Use Leni.” The AI host decides when to call a tool. A plausible answer without a Leni tool result is not proof that it checked your connected data.

What if the model or property I need is missing?

We’ll help you check the approved data scope, loading status and your access. Reconnecting an assistant does not expand your Entrata authorization or add missing source data. If a model member is rejected, discover and describe the model again before retrying.
